Il Giardino delle Muse was founded in 2001 and is directed by Simone Erre.
Specialized from the outset in the instrumental and vocal repertoire of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, the ensemble has a flexible line-up and brings together distinguished and established musicians with expertise in historically informed performance. Its interest also extends to the music of the 20th and 21st centuries, and has led important living composers to write works specifically dedicated to Il Giardino delle Muse. The ensemble has performed extensively in Italy and abroad at major early music festivals.
