Extended cookie policy statement

With the general measure "Identification of simplified procedures for the information and the acquisition of consent for the use of cookies" (published in the Official Journal no. 126 of 3 June 2014) the Italian Authority for the Protection of Personal Data has identified simplified ways to disclose on line to users information on the use of cookies and provided directions to obtain user's consent when required by law.
To protect users' privacy and allow them more informed choices, the Authority has therefore determined that, when accessing the home page or another page of a website, the user must immediately see a visible indication, specifying the following:
  • that the site uses profiling cookies to send targeted advertising messages (if used);
  • that the site also allows sending "third party" cookies, i.e., cookies installed by a different site through the site user is visiting (if used);
  • a link to a statement with more information, with the indications on the use of cookies sent from the site, that must also show how to disable the acceptance of cookies;
  • an indication that by continuing the navigation (e.g., by accessing another area of the site or by selecting an image or a link) the user agrees to the use of cookies.

What is a cookie?

Cookies are text files stored on your computer or mobile device (computer, tablet, smartphone, notebook) by a website server and are retransmitted to the same website upon user's following visit.
They are used to run authentication information, monitoring sessions and storing information on sites (without the use of "technical" cookies some operations would be very difficult or impossible to execute). But through cookies you can also track browsing, collect data on tastes, habits, personal choices that allow the reconstruction of detailed consumer profiles.

Technical cookies strictly necessary for functioning of the website

This website uses session and persistent cookies in order to offer a more efficient service to users. The use of such cookies is strictly limited to transmitting session identifiers (consisting of random numbers generated by the server) necessary to enable us to deliver the services and functions of the website in a complete manner.
The cookies used by the website avoid the use of other technologies that could compromise the privacy of the users and do not allow the acquisition of data directly identifying the user. Interested parties who do not wish to keep these cookies can delete them after browsing by simply going in the privacy settings of their own navigation browser and selecting the option to delete cookies.
As indicated by the Authority, technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of "carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communication network, or as strictly necessary for the provision of service by the company, as explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide said service". Again, the Authority indicates that "prior consent of the users is not required for the installation of these cookies".

Cookies used for aggregate statistics of website visits

This website uses aggregated analysis tools for navigation data that allow us to improve the website. In particular, Google Analytics, the system made available by Google Inc., uses cookies that are stored on your computer to allow the website manager to analyse how users use the site.
The information generated on the use of the website by the user will be transmitted to and stored by Google servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of tracking and analysing the use of the website by the user, drafting reports on website activity and providing other services relating to the activities of that site.

The most common use of social plugins is aimed at sharing content on social networks.
The presence of these plugins involves the transmission of cookies to and from all sites operated by third parties The management of the information collected by "third parties" shall be governed by the relevant statements so please make reference to them. This website makes use of third-party plugins that will be sending cookies as listed below.
