Francesco Guggiola

Born in 1990, he graduated from the "Guido Cantelli" Conservatory of Novara in the flute class of Rosalba Montrucchio. He later obtained a Masters in Music Performance at the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland in Lugano, in the class of Mario Ancilloti. He studied piccolo with Nicola Mazzanti. With the support of a De Sono scholarship, he attended the Masters in Music Performance - orchestra at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste in Zurich, in the class of Matthias Ziegler, graduating in 2015. In 2013 he was awarded at the International Competition "Severino Gazzelloni ” of Roccasecca (FR), in the piccolo category. In 2014 he gave a concert in Roccasecca as part of the XX Severino Gazzelloni International Festival with pieces for piccolo and recorded a CD for the FALAUT magazine. He has collaborated with the Scala Philharmonic, the Carlo Felice Theater Orchestra of Genoa, the Zurich Opera Orchestra, the Radio Orchestra of Italian Switzerland, the Toscanini Philharmonic of Parma, the Verdi Orchestra of Milan National Orchestra of Conservatories of Music, playing in important halls such as the Teatro alla Scala, the Zurich Opera, the Tonhalle in Zurich, the Victoria Hall in Geneva, the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, the Royal Festival Hall in London and the Royal Opera House of Muscat (Oman), with conductors such as Luisi, Bellugi, Albrecht, Lombard, Tamayo, Vedernikov, Auguin and Battistoni. In 2018 he won the piccolo competition with compulsory second flute organized by the Orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala, of which he is now a permanent member.
