TOGETHER: A virtuoso Journey between muslc and frlendshlp

In the world of guitar , few things are more fascinating !han the meeting of two talented instrumentalists who, like Julian Bream and John Williams at the time, decide to join forces on a free and border less musical journey . ''Together' is the expression of a decades-long friendship and a harmony of artistic intentions, translated into originai pieces tor two guitars and transcriptions, some of which were createci by the same duo, Christian Saggese and Giulio Tampalini. This passionale journey celebrates the timbrai and polyphonic essence of the two guitars, exploring an eclectic repertoire that ranges !rom the elegant majesty of the Fantasia op. 54 by Fernando Sorto the liveliness of Pierre Petit's Tarantella. Miguel Lobet's transcriptions of lsaac Albeniz's Bajo la Palmera and Felix Mendelssohn 's Romanza senza parole enhance the timbrai peculiarities of the duo while it was the Australian virtuoso John Williams who sensed the possibility of offering a new instrumental guise to the dramatic Andante ma moderato !rom the Sextet op. 18 by Johannes Brahms. In this context, the transcription, presented here as a world premiere, of the Concerto n. 1 op.99 by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco tor guitar and orchestra, complete with all its three movements, made by the composer and guitarist Daniele Fabio. lnstead of dividing the two guitars into the roles of soloist and accompanist , Daniele Fabio decides to rese! the polyphonic structure of the work, to obtain a result which does not lack the sense of the solo line, within the context of new concert horizons. The three works transcribed by Saggese and Tampalini move on the wave of a heartfelt sonic and emotional emotion: the brilliance of the Allegro !rom the Concerto tor oboe in D minor by Alessandro Marcello is counterbalanced by the delicate aria ''Tre giorni son che Nina' attributed to Giovanni Battista Pergolesi and the Intermezzo, originai tor piano , by Manuel Maria Ponce, full of a purely romantic inspiration.
